The gates of Myōjinsan

Myōjinsan (妙神山, lit. "Mysterious God Mountain") is a location that remains unknown to the common people but is a well known place for spiritualists who seek to improve their powers. It contains a high amount of spiritual energy, being considered a connection point between humans and gods.

It is the home of Shōryūki, the dragon guardian of the mountain and the trainer of the visitors who can choose different levels of training. Characters known to have taken the training in the mountain are Reiko Mikami, Tadao Yokoshima, Kazuhiro Karasu, Emi Ogasawara, and Yukinojō Date, increasing their abilities as Ghost Sweepers.

On the entrance of Myōjinsan there are two subordinate Oni named "Left" and "Right", with the appearance of giant bodies with their heads attached to the respective doors.

When Mikami went to Myōjinsan, Shōryūki trained her by having Mikami fight against Golem, Katras, and Shōryūki with her shadow.

Trivia

• On the gates of Myōjinsan's training grounds, there is a warning sign saying "この門をくぐる者、汝一切の望みを捨てよ". This is the Japanese version of the phrase "All hope abandon, ye who enter here" written at the Gates of Hell in the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.
• The training battlefield bears a strong resemblance to Stonehenge, a historic megalithic monument in England.
